FRIDAY REVIEW

*=ATROCIOUS!
**=TOLERABLE!
***=EXCELLENT!
****=OUT OF THIS WORLD!

Movie:
Wall-e : *
So I have heard mixed reviews on this movie, but I must admit that I fell asleep 3 times, and thought the story line was just missing umm…well a story line! I think I would rather see Hell Boy than this much anticipated Pixar film. Definitely a disappointment!

Mama Mia: ***
So maybe I just love musicals, but this movie put a perma-grin on my face the entire move. I would suggest that every dancing queen far and wide should go see this film, and wear your sequence! If you like cheesy films, you will love this summer love!

Book:
The Host: 1st 150 pages: *, rest of book: ***
I was definitely excited to read this book. I am a huge Stephanie Meyer fan, and love the twilight series! The 1st 150 pages took me about 3 weeks to get through. I was so confused, and bored at the same time. But around page 80 things start to get a little clearer, and the rest of the book I read with in a day (I think it’s around 600 pages!). Anyhow I would suggest all readers to continue reading this.

SMALLEST GIRL IN THE WORLD

A teenager from India who stands at a tiny 1ft 11in (58cm) tall is the smallest girl in the world. Jyoti Amge, 14, is shorter than the average two-year-old child and only weighs 11lb (5kg). She has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia and won't grow any taller than her current height.

TRIBUTE TO MY GIRLS!

picture stolen from Angela's Blog! :)

So I just wanted to give a short tribute to some of my friends...

Lyndi-She is one of the cutest girls ever. I met her in 9th grade, and we sat next to each other in Mr. Hagart's class...ugh! I was jealous of Lyndi because she was from the OC, and was one of the most stylish people I knew. She even stood up to a girl who was making fun of me because I was wearing a lime green jacket once. Lyndi has always had a good head on her shoulders(For example she got after me when I bought Britney Spears 1st C.D....Should have listened to her.)! She is such a great Mom, and has always been such a great friend. Lyndi thanks so much!

Angela- Angela is amazing! I don't know where I would be today if I didn't have her and her family! There was so many times growing up that I felt like her home was my home, and was such a safe place to be. Angela and I have too many stories to tell, but our first sleepover was in the 8th grade that consisted of fruit jets, and a movie with Jonathan Taylor Thomas in it. Angela and I were locker partners, and will be friends forever!

Kellie- Kellie has also been an awesome friend. She is the only friend to this day that I can drag country dancing, and have her not complain. Kellie is awesome! I love it when she breaks out into random dances, or makes a joke that nobody gets. She always looks cute in her stylish size 0 clothes, and I will forever be jealous of her for this. Kellie thanks for being so much fun!

Mary- Mary and I met because of Angela. In the 9th grade we made a group called HAM (Hayley, Angela, Mary), and for awhile there HAM was the only thing that mattered. Mary has been the best travel buddy a girl could ask for... We have had so many embarrassing experiences, but I have decided that she is such a gem! One time while camping in Peowa...Angela and I were teasing Mary about being our Mom. Mary has always had so many motherly instincts. She is the best cook I know, she has Martha Stewart written all over her, and she can organize anything...and I mean anything! I consider Mary family for sure!

Robyn-She is so lucky to be so skinny! I look at her and my jealousy vision flips on. I remember in High School she had this killer Luau, that was so much fun, and I think that the cops even came. Robyn is such a great Mom. I read her blog, and see her videos and I hope that someday that I can be that involved in my child's life. Robyn is beautiful, and has such a strong testimony of the gospel.

not pictured in the picture...LESLIE- I remember I met Leslie in Choir. Leslie made High School so much fun! One of my favorite memories was going to her house after school, and eating her Mom's cookies. Leslie and I used to put egg whites on our faces to help with our acne. She also had this awesome orange t top that she drove us everywhere! I even got to be Leslie's guest when she went to California to a plus size modeling conference...P.S...Leslie could never ever be a plus size model, but definitely a model! Leslie is also a great Mom, and I always love seeing her and just having a great chat.

A PENNY FOR A THOUGHT

I swear it has been the craziest couple of weeks! All I can say is that it has been one of the most exciting Summers of my life….Here’s what has been going on!

I just got called as the Relief Society pianist. This has been a crazy calling! A week before I got this calling, I was struggling with some music I have been writing, and said a prayer asking Heavenly Father to help me expand my music abilities…Well considering I really don’t play piano, it shows to be careful what you wish or pray for. I am actually very excited to learn, and already feel like Heavenly Father is helping me out, because I am playing things that I never thought possible!

I also started teaching an adult group guitar class. I have always been so intimidated to teach adults, so I have always put it on the back burner and just stuck with 18 or younger. I have actually loved teaching this class. Not only has it been so much fun to teach a group class, but also to see such strong progress, and has definitely helped me leap over a big fear. Yeah!

I have also been working on my Mom’s geneology. I must say that this is turning into one of my favorite things to do! Nothing is more fulfilling than finding a missing date of birth or a spouse’s name. I love it so much, and even though I am just barely learning, I can’t wait till I actually have some names for the temple. I would suggest everyone to dive into their family history, because it is amazing how much peace, and what a sense of closeness to your ancestors that you feel! Thanks Dad for teaching me all you know!

I also found out that I have celiac disease, and that I am going to be going on a gluten free diet! I decided to start after I get back from my Lake Powell trip, but I definitely am going to be kicking and screaming during this journey without any bread, cookies, 7-11 doughnuts, cake, pasta… but it will be nice to feel a little better. I don’t know what I am going to eat now, because I have gotten rid of all meat except birds and fish, and I am already lactose intolerant. I guess it’s time to embrace the lettuce and sprouts! Can you be a gluten free vegetarian? Guess we will find out!

My family also just got back from an awesome family reunion at our cabin up Vivian Park. We had a biblical dinner, we went on the Heber Creeper, we went tubing down the river, we went boating, we enjoyed the Stadium of Fire, we had a couple of family game shows, we tied and made a quilt for the cabin, had the Haws Family Olympics, and we learned how to make my Great Grandma Edith’s meat pies…they are better than mine! It was so much fun to have my cousins keep me up till 3 am just laughing and laughing. I definitely hope we do it next year! …hopefully pictures and more details will be coming soon!

I also got to go to Tim Mcgraw, with one of my top 3 best friends…BECKY BROWN. It was definitely a night to remember! I must say that nothing feels better than watching Tim Mcgraw and being with your BFF!

Anyhow I also am going to Lake Powell tomorrow with my other BFF….MARY BRAITHWAITE! I am so excited to go relax in the sunshine for 4 awesome days! I love boating, and nothing screams Summer like boating!

Anyhow I know this is a pretty random post, but I just want to finish it by saying that I am such a lucky girl for having such a great family, awesome friends, and wonderful blog readers. I must say that I don’t think my life would amount to much without such incredible influences!
