WOMEN OF INFLUENCE!

I thought I would share some thoughts, from some of my favorite women!

Oprah Winfrey's ten commandments for Success

1. Don't live your life to please others.
2. Don't depend on forces outside of yourself to get ahead.
3. Seek harmony and compassion in your business and personal life.
4. Get rid of the backstabbers-surround yourself only with people who will lift you higher.
5. Be nice.
6. Rid yourself of your addictions-whether they are food, alcohol, drugs, or behavior habits.
7. Surround yourself with people who are as smart or smarter than you.
8. If money is your motivation, forget it.
9. Never hand over your power to someone else.
10. Be persistent in pursuing your dreams.

"How noble and good everyone could be if, at the end of each day, they were to review their own behavior and weigh up the rights and wrongs....Everyone is welcome to this prescription; it costs nothing and is definitely useful. Those who don't know will have to find out bey experience that a quiet conscience gives you strength."- Anne Frank, July 6, 1944

"When you get intoa tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hand on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just eh place and time that the tide will turn." - Harriet Beecher Stowe

"If I feel depressed, I go to work. Work is always an antidote to depression." -Elanor Roosevelt

"The biggest disease today is not leprosy or cancer or tuberculosis, but rather the feeling of being unwanted, uncared for, deserted by everybody. The greatest evil is the lack of lkove and charity, the terrible indifference towards one's neighbor who lives at the roadside, the victim of exploitation, corruption, poverty, and disease."-Mother Teresa

THE POST OF DRAMA...WOWZERS!

I would like to take a minute and blog about an undefined rule of friendship. Recently I had an experience between two friends, that I would like to get others people’s estimations on, and share my own…When is it okay to date a first-class friend’s EX?

Here is the state…A great friend of mine recently got dumped by a chap that I have zero respect for. While dating my friend he most often talked about marriage, telling the entire office(they work together) about their experiences, not to mention asking his co-worker to be the best man if they did ever tie the knot. He made sure he bought a striking bouquet of her favorite color flowers for Valentines Day, and when he kissed her he dipped her…that’s right folks I said dipped! Sounds like a pretty quixotic kind of guy right? Wrong!

While making it pretty clear that he wanted to only date her, telling her he had something very important to talk to her about in the temple, and telling her that he is saving up for a “ring”, he surreptitiously was taking out 6 girls in a matter of 3 weeks. But…our story goes on.

He called my friend and told her he wanted to take her to a, very fancy, elite, Restaurant. He goes on to tell my friend of his plans for Saturday night. He told her that he was going snowshoeing in the morning, followed by watching some movies for work, and then was in-charge of a Service project. After she took the first bite of her dinner…he
broke off their relationship telling her she was perfect, but not the girl for him.

Saturday night rolled around, and my heart-broken friend wanted to get out of the house. We decided to get pedicures, go hot-tubing, and go to an institute dance.

All-of-the-sudden who did we see at the dance? That is right “Service Project Boy”! After trying to avoid him like the plague, we ran into him in the hall. I of course couldn’t help but give him the evil eye, and my friend was sweet as pie.

While at the dance we ran into a mutual friend. We started asking questions, and she then heard of my other friend’s bad news. We then pointed out the chump who had started it all.

After the dance was over, my other friend asked my other friend to guess who she just danced with. She of course made her way over to the newly single EX, flirted up a storm, and got him to ask her to dance. After chatting on the phone with her after the dance, she informed me that she thought my friends EX was very charming, cute, and knew how to say all the right things to a girl.

Maybe it’s just me, but I would never want to be with a good friends left over’s. I think that throwing yourself at a friend’s EX is a sign of zero self confidence, selfish undertones, and lack of character. But this of course is my personal opinion. Maybe I am just off my rocker, but I would never want to hurt a friend like this. So I am seriously just curious to what everyone else thinks about this matter? When is it okay to date a friends EX?

RELIEF SOCIETY ART!

Today has been a blast and a half! My roommates and I headed over to enrichment tonight, where we made art out of random items that could be thrown away at just a moments notice. Here is my art. I call this piece "Zombie" dedicated to Nellie Mckay for her song "Zombie" found in The Paste Sampler 36, and also my band members Sierra, Chris, Matt, and the hour conversation we had on Zombies back in the day!

CALL ME CRAZY!

I have been doing laundry all day, and I have also been home alone all day. Well just barely I went down to the basement to switch over some some loads when I found a random couple in the basement having a hot and heavy makeout. Can I say awkward!
I have no idea who these people are. They must be friends of the roommates! But considering that they just walk in and make themselves comfortable when no one is here, just gives me another reason to want to move out!

ALL ABOUT ME

My good friend recently asked me what I was up to, and so I decided to share my exciting life story through blogging!

I recently signed up for a 1/2 Marathon. I have been running everyday, and pretty much its not my favorite thing to do. I am so excited for Spring, when I can get off the treadmill and run my millions of miles in the outdoors!

Right now I am taking an institute class called "Teachings of the Living Prophets." We have been studying the Conference talks, and it definitely has made me want to be more valient in following the prophet!

This is my adorable nephew Tommy! I love him so much, and just think he is the cutest baby in the whole world!
I am still dying my hair every other month. Yes! my family makes fun of me, and always ask me what color it will be the next time they see me...I tell them to stay tuned!

Right now I am writing a novel called "Grinchesters". It is a book about a miracle, and Grandma Ediths famous scones! It will probably never get published, but I love to write! I also love to read, but my reading comes and goes in spurts.

I am currently working as a coder for some Orthopedic Surgeons. This picture represents me and my co-worker. She is already dead, and I am hanging by a thread. We decorate our skeletons every month, because we think were funny! Gotta love working with them bones!
I am a Demacrat! Oh wait I live in Utah...lets move on!

For the last 6 months I have been teaching underpriveledged kids guitar! This is Trevan he is one of my favorite people in the whole world. He loves to draw me pictures of me with Dolly parton hair! He is constently making up songs in an unknown chinese language, and has finally advanced to Book 2! Yeah Trevan!
Isach is my guitar hero 2! He is super shy, and whenever he is sleepy or not wanting to play a song he will just rub his eyes for minutes at a time! He always tells me that Harmony his sister messes up his room, and he will NOT clean her mess up. He got this black guitar for Christmas...He told me that Santa's elves made it in their workshop!

I also have been taking a Middle Eastern dance class! I have been dancing for the past 2 years, and have been taking lessons from a lady named Halima Halima! Gotta love it!

I also am in a band with some killer musicians called "Goodbye Babylon". Matt and Chris...I love you guys...and Sierra I miss you tons! I am also currently writing some songs for a national songwriting contest, and working on a solo church album.
